..is starting soon :(
I have (happily) spent the last 9 months doing absolutely
NOTHING!!! And even though I could have been productive by getting a job or growing a baby I don't regret taking this really
long break :D Though it proves how lazy I can get when people don't force me to do things like attend school...
I didn't exactly do nothing tho - i earned a little money during cosfest and did a lot of things for the first time in my life like go overseas without adults, got a pet, got a manfriend who counts as a pet also, and other things i don't remember but I do know I didn't waste this best holiday of my life :)
BUT IT ENDS SOON OMG
can someone give me reason to look forward to college

1. Teachers will no longer scold me for wearing my favourite clothes jackets and shoes I can even wear
and they'll be like cool style bro
2. My school has
cats and a cat appreciation society and that means a lot to me
3. I did get into the course i wanted and I'm going to pennsylvania in 4 years
but what if i get shitty grades and get kicked out or what if i continue to hate coding i need to have passion for this
4. A few of my
besties are in this school and I can eat lunch
and actually
attend classes with them after like 10 years of lagging one year behind because of a big stupid mistake I made when I was 12
5. I can
drive to school and increase my chances of dying by like 148632%
6. A
three month long holiday every year

I just discovered
stfumemebase.tumblr.com and I. JUST. CAN'T. It has opened my eyes to the horrible ableism/sexist/fat/poverty shaming things people post on meme sites. Sometimes I see offensive posts, I usually just go, "Okay, this sounds off. *scrolls to next meme*"
...
BUT THIS TUMBLR. IT MAKES ME SO MAD AND RAGEY.
ALL THE MISOGYNIC, FAT-SHAMING POSTS MAKE ME SO ANGYR.
There are a few issues stfumemebase and
stfu9gag have brought to light.
1. Slut shaming.
Have you noticed that 'slut' and 'whore' are negative terms, but 'womanizer' and 'playboy' are positive ones? Why is it that women get so much shit from society for sleeping around while men are instead looked up to for their charisma when he does the exact same thing?
Using the word 'slut' on a man is also sexist itself because calling a man girly is considered an insult to him. There is no way you can neutralize this word and the only way you can stop slut shaming is to either stop using the word or turn it into something positive..... which is nigh impossible.
Why do these negative terms always have a female default, anyway? Slut, whore, mary sue etc. I can't think of any with male defaults. Dick and douche don't count to me because they just represent general rudeness, like bitch.
2. internalised misogyny
I thought that she was pretty cool to pwn the guy who thought she was a fake fan. (Does wearing a t-shirt mean you're a fan anyway what if you just
like the fucking shirt) BUT she blamed it on women, not on the guy who was acting so entitled he felt the need to test a woman and make her prove she deserved to be in their "male space". That is internalised misogyny and I feel most strongly against that because why are you contributing to the oppression of your own sex!
I'm no hardcore gamer, but I read that females who gamed online suffered attacks from males who thought they were invading their territory. There was this girl who was insulted by males because she put her picture as her game avatar. They completely ignored that other males put their pictures as their avatars as well! Somehow when a girl does it, it's wrong!
Memes that go 'GIRLS, THERE ARE GAMES OTHER THAN CALL OF DUTY." and those that accuse girls of playing games solely for attention oh god they make me so HJGASHAFHGDjakdgahgdshjds!!! Yes, I am aware that these girls exist BUT they've become the stereotype and caused girls who truly like gaming to be attacked as well.

3. Our appearance
Why are we women bashed once we don't fit society's image of what women should look like? We can't dress a certain way because we'll look slutty, the popularity of the duck face meme, and THIS.
Guys. GUYS. She's going to the FUCKING OLYMPICS. If she wanted to shave her pits, trust me
SHE WOULD HAVE. But she didn't and that means she likes her pits hairy and she's not ashamed of it. OH AND HOW GROSS THAT MUST BE. AFTER ALL THESE WOMEN TRAIN SO HARD SO THEY CAN SHOW YOU HOW NICE THEY LOOK ON TV.

God. I'm so sorry. I'm mad because this picture got 30000 likes. I'm upset because even
women were commenting on how disgusting she was. Never mind that she was stronger than most men out there and never mind that she worked so hard to be recognized in a male dominated sport. She did not look like what a woman should look like and therefore must be insulted.
I hate it when people start dissing women with armpit hair and then it's perfectly okay when men don't shave. Fucking double standards. Especially when women do it. It's another form of internalised misogyny.
I personally do not like hair on pits. Male pits and female pits. But
I'm perfectly okay if you think otherwise. It's your body, not mine.
The history behind this is that long ago, hair represented power. Women who looked childlike were said to be more submissive and naive and men liked that.
So to the girls who bashed her. Please stop contributing to the oppression of your own sex. I believe she has done a lot for us women. She deserves only respect and admiration.
P.S. Have you seen men being bashed for looking "wrong"? Only when they are wearing women's clothing, right? Not sure about this though, just my observation.
4. Homosexuality: Genes or choice
I've often heard people arguing about gay people being 'born with it' and that it isn't a choice.

5. Women are uncontrollable bitches when on their periods.
Yeah yeah, typical 9gag cliches. It's not true for most of us. Welp you probably know it isn't. It's not like most of the people from 9gag had any chance to interact with women anyway.

While I will not deny that there are poor men out there who really suffer under unreasonable, bad-tempered girlfriends, I cannot forgive men who make fun of women for being on their periods. Some women might get more irritable before/during their periods, but it doesn't mean you can tease them about it and then make yourself out as a victim when they get annoyed at you.
6. The "friend-zone"
IS A VERY MISOGYNISTIC TERM.

Stereotypes are bad. Even positive stereotypes. If you scour meme sites you can't miss the LEVEL: ASIAN posts.
They're bad because in summary there are going to be asian kids who are
bad at math and the teachers will think you're smart you don't need as
much help as the other kids do because your asian and sad asians will be
sad going why have you forsaken me
8. Jokes
...pertaining to misogyny, rape, racism, disabilities, murder/massacre and obesity.
I used to laugh at some of them....
But now I think if you tell a joke and if it actually
hurts somebody out there/contributes to a growing issue that has a negative impact on a certain group of people, it's
not funny.
Yeah... maybe I lost my sense of humor. But I believe you can still be funny without making fun of something that someone out there is suffering from.
OKAY even now I still think I sound prudish
BUT - You might have seen the
overly-attached girlfriend meme and I must admit I
still do find some of them funny even though this meme is built on a misogynic premise. Yes, there might be an overly attached boyfriend version but you can't forget that the female version came first and is the default.
I really like this quote!

Going down this path is really not good for me because i
cannot debate D: People are going to think I lack humor and hate me if I point out
anything that is offensive. Even stfumemebase and stfu9gag get hate when
they illustrate their points so well and convincingly.
(But most of them are like 'you suck because you suck' and 'no 1 cares') I can't even do
the explaining part.
It's also not good because when I browse meme sites or even my fb newsfeed I'm now
ultra sensitive to the wrong things people say. And I can even admit I
might overthink things and see them as offensive when they are actually not.
I'm not totally against meme sites because there are quality posts from time to time but one offensive post can ruin my mood. I made one trip to 9gag and read about 4 pages and I already saw:

I think I might be able to take all these 'jokes' better IF there were posts that insulted men as well. And I tried finding them. I really did and I couldn't. Even if miraculously there are a few, the disparity angers me enough. Anyway, I'm not really too mad at the 9gag community because most of them will probably remain single forever.
I hope this is a phase and I won't be so angry soon :(

I felt quite meh about how my piercer told me '
You know it's gonna hurt like hell, right?' right before I had them pierced!!! Is this something you're supposed to say to a first timer!! You're supposed to say that it DOES NOT HURT even if it hurts jeez!
But she did the
EXACT OPPOSITE. It did
not hurt!! Not much anyway! It was very fast. I didn't wince at all :D (Especially after my piercer said that and lulu heard it. -.- lulu was already scared enough)
I was quite dissatisfied with the location though (now i'm okay, i like it) so my piercer got her girlfriend to do lulu's.
And then we went earring shopping :D

I have to say animals play a huge part in our relationship. When we
disturb pamper cats,
torture spoil our hamster Derpy and pat the dog next door I feel so happy because I always wanted my boyfriend to be an animal lover :)
Owning a hamster with him also lets me deduce what we'll be like if we ever have kids
