My Wacom nibs
So I bought a couple of pen nibs from Taobao to try out on my Wacom tablet. I had no idea there were so many kinds, but there you go. Here's my review of each.
- Normal nib. Everybody has this. draws smooth, sometimes a little too smooth. But constant and dependable.
- Hard felt nib. Supposed to add friction? It is a little too squeaky for my liking. edit: it's actually pretty cool to draw with. it's like drawing with an ultra fine marker on a whiteboard.
- Flex nib. MY FAVOURITE FAVOURITE NIB. If you own a tablet, and want to try a new drawing feel, buy this nib. Has a very cushiony, yet firm, feel to it!! I can't go back to anything else. It makes your strokes slightly slower, but in return you feel less slippery and regain control.
- Spring nib - Supposed to feel brush like. It's kinda hard to control; you need more pressure than usual cuz of the spring. But I think it'll be nice to paint with, but it's not for lineart.
- Gold nib - idk why the fuck I bought this I'm a sucker for packaging lol. it's made of some bullet alloy material. Anyway, this feels like the normal nib but a bit more metallic. I think it'll not wear off as fast as normal nibs.
I love buying new stationery because they get me excited to draw more to test them out!
It's sort of like buying new panties - they make you want to live for a few more days...
This got depressing fast
