I'll do theme parks and sightseeing in another post. This post got long because I am so vain and wrote waaaaayy too much about beauty
- Lash extensions at Gangnam
I got my
eyelashes permed and extended for 135,000won (~$100USD). It was a torturous 2 hours lying on a stiff bed getting fake pubes superglued to my eyelids. 2/10 prefer not to experience again.
Forgot the name of the place but the interior is like a cafe
They sat me down with a catalog of lashes. These ranged from natural to full blown soot demons. They said Singaporeans prefer the slightly fancier kind. I chose that. The consultation was in English - paid +$10 because of that.
The end result is fancy long spider legs on my eye curtains:
I was told they'd last a month. It's been over 2 months and I still have a few stuck on me!
Lash extensions are kind of annoying when you're washing your face. Still, they give you slightly nicer peepers for a few months. In future I'd prefer to just curl them.
I've had this
annoying oil bump on my face that I can't get rid of. I wanted to see a dermatologist for help getting rid of it! I went to Wonjin, on a recommendation of a friend.
Before I visited, I emailed them and was quoted 30,000 won (~$30USD) to laser that off. They too have English speaking staff and setting up an appointment over email was a breeze.

They took me into a room and did something called CO2 laser treatment.... It felt like a mosquito bite!
AFTER: A crater.
The crater has since closed up and now I have a tinier oil bump in its place. Hopefully one day it'll completely disappear.
Apart from dermatology services, it's also a famous plastic surgery center. In fact, they're famous for their work on many famous kpop stars!
(edit: holy fuck i said famous 3xin a row.. i'm gonna leave that there to remind myself how shitty my vocab is becoming)

plastic surgery catalog when waiting for my appointment.
They always make the "BEFORE" so miserable ;_;

It was OK, cost about $20.
Kakao is a korean messaging app. It's like walking into a salon called "Whatsapp Barber services"

hELP I BOUGHT TOO MUCH
It's been two months and here are my favourites
1) Peripera lip ink velvets
These are only about $7 a pop but they're the most pigmented, longlasting and comfortable out of all my lip products. It's said every korean girl has at least 3 of these.
2) VDL Lumilayer primer
I think makeup primers are a scam, just an extra step in your makeup routine to make you spend more. They are supposed to be applied before your foundation... but foundation means BASE. Why is there something before your base?
But this primer... I reach for it when I want to look extra pretty. It gives you
THAT dewy Korean look. When I pump it on my hand and bring it to the light, I see fine sparkles reflecting different colors at me. It's beautiful.

3) Moonshot microfit cushion
My favourite bb cushion foundation. Moonshot is not a famous brand and I had to go to Myeongdong to find them! It covers my blotchy redness and gives my skin an even satin finish.

Got a new pair of Korean glasses made at RadioEyes in Hongdae!

Everything cost about $200, which is DAMN CHEAP because I'm almost blind (800 degrees with high astigma) and I got the thinnest lenses!! It's 5x less than what it costs in USA. They even shipped it to me in the USA for free!

My favourite cake place is
Chateraise at WestGate B2 (inside Isetan). I've been recommending it to my friends. It's very good value for money and the staff are super nice. You can see them decorating the cakes too.
My favourite cake is the
legendary cream cake which is a very milky and fluffy strawberry shortcake.

WaaCow inside shaw foundation alumni house in NUS. I really like the flavoured rice and the bowl is very fragrant.
My friends and I have been raving about this
Japanese Curry Rice inside Food Republic (Vivocity and Wisma). For only $7, you get amazing curry rice that is big enough for two people!
This is the waffles at
Sunday Folks in Holland Village. It's pretty nice. I like the gula melaka ice cream to go along with it. :)
The
honey truffle waffles at Butter My Buns in NUS Utown are to die for. It combines the powerful smoky flavour of truffle with crispy waffle drizzled with gooey sweet honey. Super unique. I bought many times :D
eyelash perm and haircut
So after submitting my FYP report I went to treat myself by getting an eyelash perm and haircut!
I got it for $15 at
Paris Beauty House at Holland Village. I bought the Groupon from
here! Apparently, a lash perm is supposed to last
4 weeks. I think mine will not last so long because my hair is naturally straight.
Curled lashes
Experience
Overall, the experience was pleasant :) I'm always too lazy to curl my lashes and this gives me some incentive to apply mascara which really makes a difference.
Process
First they pasted some glue on my lashes to stick to my eyelids. Then I lay there for
45 minutes listening to nature sounds and I fell asleep. It was painful at first, but later on while waiting for your lashes to perm, it felt
very relaxing, like going for a spa.
Staff
I also liked the staff there. They did not push me to do other beauty services, which is SO DAMN RARE OMG. Because of that I'll patronize them whenever I can.
I seriously need to treat myself more often. It felt so good!!
I bought another
groupon, this time for a haircut at
Hair Atelier at Scotts Rd. I just asked to thin my hair and my hairdresser,
Raen, did just that.
Told him i wanted something like this.
I like it. My hair is very light now.
He also blow-dried my hair around a barrel brush which made my hair curl slightly inwards. NOW I WANT A
HEATED ROUND STYLING BRUSH *o*
Of course, I am gonna destroy it with
bleach and rainbow hair once again LOL. After cutting my hair short a year ago, I don't want to do that again. I want the versatility of my long hair.

I combine this with
kate brow pencil which I draw around the edges of my brows. I am really into the
korean thick straight eyebrows now although my fringe kinda covers 90% of my brows but I super love this!
It makes my brows defined.
As for
brow threading, I've always gone to this brow place in Clementi for ~20 times. I forgot the name but it's outside Clementi Mall, has a pink sign and near the Gong Cha. Each session cost me about $4 with the 12-times card and lasts me about a month. I've tried BrowHaus, neighbour hood threading shops, and I always go back to this one. It's good and cheap.

Was walking to COM1 and met my ex-lecturer for CS2101, and she told me I did well for the module.
I was like "
ehh really? I got an A-.."
And she said it was very close to A and that I was the "top for that one"
I unknowingly topped another module/class????? If it's true, I am proud, but I can't help but feel it's a fluke, because my presentation skills are really bad.

I cut my hair... My hairdressers were fucking mean.
(I was about to leave earlier on, when they told me haircut is $20, but they somehow persuaded me to sit down and get my hair cut there)

It's been one year since my bf and I got together! Technically, our official anniversary would be in July haha. We started hanging out in May after my car accident but I was in a difficult time (broke up with the ex in April) but he waited patiently, stuck with me through it all and never made that into a problem, which explains how our relationship is so stable. He trusted me and was sure about me from the beginning. I'm so grateful for that. He's my pillar of support.
I thought things normally fade after a year but I love him more and more each day. This relationship feels perfect and stable and is probably the only part of my life that I am content with.

I'm a little glad to say I might have found my passion in the coding side... coding
user interfaces
I coded the interface using QT for the first time and it was fun! To be honest, I thought I was just going to do the graphics and let others do the coding, but I did not!!! I wrote about
3000 lines of code for the project. I can proudly call myself a programmer now...
Our prof said we're
ahead of the pack and we are the group that put the most thought into the software so far! And our CS2101 prof also said we had the
best dev guide of the cohort! I am proud of my team.

I made them this because I felt like i didn't deserve to win la omg I'm so loser and boring I was scared I couldn't talk to them but in the end they were so nice and easygoing and we talked about cats and our countries and education WHOA it was amazing.
